Okay so I have heard many remixes and mashups of Skrillex’s first massive hit, “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites”, and it will always be one of my favorite tracks by him. Our love for Moombahtonhas surpassed that of dubstep. Not too sound too much like a pretentious hipster but there is something in Moombahton that still feels fresh and genuine. These producers have given the overwhelmingly popular Skrillex single Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites a complete new facelift with Torolla & Electrode. so I’m posting Electrode’s latest production: a dirty moombahcore edit of his classic “Scary Monsters”. Diehard Taylors generally point to 2011′s Cabin Fever and Kush & OJ as Wiz Khalifa’s last great effort. The mixtape dropped seemingly on a whim and featured Wiz rapping tougher and grimier than anything he’d dropped since Star Power. More than a year later, the Pittsburgh MC seems to be following suit, releasing this Taylor Allderdice project almost out of nowhere.
Earlier in February, he admitted that Rolling Papers wasn’t his best work, all but confirming that Atlantic had molded his style into something a bit more profitable. Given the wide range of his previous work – Star Power and Prince of the City were both hard-hitting gems, while Kush & Orange Juice remains his gold standard – ‘Taylor Allderdice‘ seems to be a culmination of his best works. Hopefully this will show that the Bing commercials and red carpet appearances didn’t totally compromise the artist that so many people have grown to love over the past four years.
No matter what anybody says, Wiz has a lot to prove with this one. Give it a spin and see for yourselves if he’s answered his critics.
